FAQs for new and returning
players for 2008-09:
-
The Scarborough Sharks
House League division will be divided into the five
recognised OWHA age divisions listed above for the 2008-09
season provided we have enough girls in each category
to form a minimum of 4 teams. The major change this
entails for next year is the formation of a new Bantam
division for ages 13 and 14.
-
Final age groups and
divisions will be determined following the September
16, 2008 registration deadline once player numbers in
each category is assessed.
-
Players are expected
to play within their assigned age groups and will
not be moved between assigned divisions for convenience
(eg siblings, car pooling etc.)
- Players 12 years and younger will play
Tuesday nights at McGregor Arena and will have weekend practices
on Saturday (Agincourt or Commander) or Sunday (Scarborough
Gardens or Commander)
- Players 13 years and up (Bantam and Open),
may play games on Sunday night at Heron Park, Tuesday night
at McGregor or Monday night at Scarborough Village Arena.
Every effort will be made to schedule a consistent location
once final division decisions have been made. Additional
games will be scheduled for these two divisions in lieu
of weekly practices.
- The Little Sharks program will run Saturdays,
November 1st - February 28th, 3:00pm - 4:00pm at Agincourt
Arena
"Little
Sharks" Skating & Hockey Skills Program
Description:
A hockey and skating skills program for girls 4 to 7 years
of age. The program is a feeder program for our Novice house
league division - introducing girls to the basics of skating,
passing, and shooting. The only prerequisite is that the
girls must be able to skate one length of the ice with a
glide (this is not a learn to skate program). The
program is very affordable for parents at $130 per child.
This will include 14 sessions on the ice, a jersey,
pizza day and a small graduation prize. The dates for the
program will be Saturdays, November 1st, 2008 to February
28th, 2009, 3:00pm - 4:00pm at Agincourt Arena. Full equipment
is required.
