Novice Teddy Bear Program 2008/2009
For Girls Born in 2000 & 2001

Head Coach: Chris Farmakovski

Program Overview:
A full season novice development program for girls who are also playing house league hockey. The program will focus on developing technical skills to prepare the girls for a higher level of competition offered in rep hockey.

Program Details:
- Provide a fun learning environment built on positive reinforcement, enthusiasm and enjoyment of hockey
- Advanced skills development program to prepare players for success at a high level of rep hockey in future years
- Ample practice - early "training camp" 2-3 times per week in September followed by weekly practice starting in October. Possibly 5pm Fridays.
- Possibility of picking up occasional extra practice by sharing (half-ice) with Atom B team
- Maximum participation in Sharks organized extra development sessions (last season offered by Gery Othman)
- Goalie equipment provided by league, instruction to be provided by current female Intermediate A goalie
- Moderate amount of game competition to include:
o October to December:
- 4 to 6 exhibition games
- 1 fall tournament
o January to April:
- 2 to 4 exhibition games
- 10-12 games in LLFHL Novice Teddy Bear loop
- 2 -3 winter tournaments - Sharks in Jan and possibly Durham in Feb or Leaside in March
- Teddy Bear Championship Weekend in April - 1 game
